Sixty-two robots entered the competition in the 'Fight Night' format carried over from previous Discovery seasons. This format pits the robots in a series of qualifying fights determined entirely by the producers of the show. Robots that survive the qualifying matches are ranked by the show producers to fill thirty-two slots in the single-elimination championship tournament.
