Robot Wars 1996

The 1996 Robot Wars event took place August 16th thru 18th at the Fort Mason Center, Herbst Pavillion in San Francisco. There were four classes:

  • Super Lightweight : 5-25 lbs.
  • Lightweight : 26-50 lbs.
  • Middleweight : 51-100 lbs.
  • Heavyweight : 101-165 lbs.
Two events were featured within each weight class:
  • A standard 'Face-Off' tournament with a 5 minute time limit (results below).
  • A 'Melee' free-for-all, also with a 5 minute time limit. Melee winners:
    • Superlight : X2
    • Light : Lorena 2
    • Middle : The Agamemnon
    • Heavy : La Machine
Other prize winners were:
  • Best Design : 'Biohazard'
  • Best Engineering : 'Biohazard
  • Strangest Robot : 'Sponkey Munkey'
  • Autonomous : 'Gladiator Rodney'
