Robot Wars 1996
The 1996 Robot Wars event took place August 16th thru 18th at the Fort Mason Center, Herbst Pavillion in San Francisco. There were four classes:
- Super Lightweight : 5-25 lbs.
- Lightweight : 26-50 lbs.
- Middleweight : 51-100 lbs.
- Heavyweight : 101-165 lbs.
Two events were featured within each weight class:
- A standard 'Face-Off' tournament with a 5 minute time limit (results below).
- A 'Melee' free-for-all, also with a 5 minute time limit. Melee winners:
- Superlight : X2
- Light : Lorena 2
- Middle : The Agamemnon
- Heavy : La Machine
Other prize winners were:
- Best Design : 'Biohazard'
- Best Engineering : 'Biohazard
- Strangest Robot : 'Sponkey Munkey'
- Autonomous : 'Gladiator Rodney'
